1. Remove the valve cover.
2. Rotate the crankshaft until the TDC mark on the flywheel aligns with the timing pointer.
3. Loosen the locknut on the intake and exhaust valve clearance adjusting screws.
4. Use a feeler gauge to measure the valve clearance between the cam and the valve stem. The intake valve clearance should be 0.04-0.08 mm (0.0016-0.0031 in), and the exhaust valve clearance should be 0.08-0.12 mm (0.0031-0.0047 in).
5. Adjust the valve clearances by turning the adjusting screws in or out until the correct clearance is achieved.
6. Tighten the locknuts.
7. Replace the valve cover.
