2. Turn the crankshaft until the piston is at the top of its stroke. You can do this by using a wrench to turn the crankshaft bolt.
3. Align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets. The timing marks are usually a small dot or line.
4. Install the spark plug.
5. Start the engine and check the timing. You can do this by using a timing light. The timing light will show you if the spark plug is firing at the correct time.
