Every driver’s worst fear is driving along only to see a warning light illuminate on their dashboard. Whether your Ford is shiny and new, or you’ve been relying on it for years, you trust your Ford to get you where you need to be! Here are some warning lights you should be aware of that let you know when your Ford could use a little TLC.
Engine Temp (red)
This can be the most alarming light to see flash on your dash. This light indicates your engine is overheating and you should pull over as soon as it’s safe to do so and allow your engine to cool.
Check Engine (yellow)
Your check engine light has two warning levels. Less serious issues will be indicated by a solid yellow light, while major issues will be indicated with a blinking yellow light. When you see this light up, it means there’s an issue with your emissions or exhaust system.
Oil Pressure (red)
Stop immediately and turn off the engine. You are either low on oil or there is a malfunction within your system.
Tire Pressure (yellow)
This familiar warning light indicates your tires have lost an unsafe amount of air pressure. Check your tires’ pressure as soon as safely possible.
Traction Control (yellow)
The traction control system is responsible for helping your vehicle maintain its grip in slippery conditions. This light indicates that the traction control has been activated, reminding you to drive cautiously on the slippery road.
Check Battery (red)
This light usually indicates that something in your electrical system is faulty. You should have this issue serviced as soon as possible.
