Can you return a used car to dealer in Illinois after five days of use?

Illinois doesn't have a "cooling-off" period for used car purchases like some states have for door-to-door sales or certain contracts. There's no legal right to return a used car to a dealer after five days simply because you changed your mind.

While a dealer *might* accept a return out of goodwill, especially if there's a significant problem with the car, they are under no legal obligation to do so after the sale is complete. Your recourse would depend on whether the car was sold "as is" or with an expressed warranty and whether the car has any significant defects that violate that warranty. If there's a breach of warranty, you might have legal options.
