Crossovers and SUVs outsell all other vehicle types in America, so it’s not surprising that they make up the bulk of our list of the most researched vehicles, too.
The sales leader sits at the top (again, not surprisingly), and right below is the Hyundai Palisade. Other strong sellers like the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, and Subaru Forester round out the top five.
Most Researched SUVs March 2026:
Toyota RAV4
Hyundai Palisade
Honda CR-V

Mazda CX-5
Lexus RX 350
Hyundai Santa Fe
Subaru Outback
Toyota Grand Highlander
Hyundai Tucson Hybrid
Honda CR-V Hybrid
Toyota Highlander
Honda Pilot
Toyota 4Runner
Chevrolet Traverse

Chevrolet Trax
Lexus NX 350
Honda HR-V
Hyundai Ioniq 5
Perhaps what stands out the most is what’s not on the list, such as any vehicle wearing the Jeep badge. Last month, the Jeep Wrangler ranked 15th; this month, it’s not even in the top 25. Other rugged body-on-frame SUVs like the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, Ford Bronco and Expedition, and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are similarly absent from the top 25.
What we see instead are hybrids, and, for the first time ever on this list of the most researched SUVs in America, an electric vehicle in the form of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. High gas prices are likely driving internet searches for hybrids and EVs as buyers consider their fuel-saving options.
Conversely, the bottom of the list has a bunch of SUVs that aren’t focused at all on saving fuel, with a few notable exceptions like the Ford Escape PHEV. Ford, however, has given up marketing the Escape, which is dying on the vine so slowly that it’s not even available for sale in several states with strict environmental laws.
Least Researched SUVs March 2026:
Audi SQ5
Cadillac Lyriq-V
Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron
Lamborghini Urus
Cadillac Escalade-V
Ford Escape PHEV
Audi Q5 Sportback
Audi RS Q8 Performance
Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron
Cadillac Escalade-V ESV
Audi has five out of the 10 spots filled with several niche models, with the Q6 e-tron pair standing out as the only EVs in the least researched SUV rankings, which we compile using data provided exclusively to AutoGuide via AutoFinder.com — an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, connecting consumers with top dealerships nationwide to easily find and secure the best deal on a car, truck, or SUV. As we’ve pointed out in the past, Audi’s convoluted naming scheme may be to blame.
