Top 10 things to do in a car wash

What should I do with my time during an actual car wash? Well, you are pretty much familiar with this question which pops up almost every time you book a slot for your car wash. Unfortunately, you reach your preferred car wash station and end up sitting idle, eventually get bored. Obviously, it seems a bit mundane, but what if we say that it’s not. What if we have a bunch of fun or maybe even productive things to try out while you are waiting?

Of course, you could spend that time on your phone, checking out cat videos, and get caught in a never-ending limbo-land, aka social media. On the other hand, the car wash is similar to your shower time or the comforts of your bed. It is a hidden sanctuary, far off from the rest of the world. Your own bubble away from all the distractions. A calm area where you may be yourself and relax for a while. You may also do the reverse. Anything that rocks your boat. No judgments here. Here are some suggestions from our end to add to your own list of “What to do while getting my car washed?”.

Organize your mail inbox

Delete emails, especially commercial ones, or better still, unsubscribe (except those Way.com emails – those be pure gold!) Label them for easy access in the future. Reply to the emails that you missed out on. Chip away at your objective of a nicely cleaned up and perfectly organized inbox to your liking, 5 minutes at a time.

Declutter your phone

Speaking of an organized inbox, why not your phone as well. Why not spend a few minutes removing fuzzy photographs or storing up files in the cloud to free up space on your smartphone? In our opinion, this is a must-do activity!

Get your creative quirks out

Pick a song to sing along to while you listen. Make your own new dubstep tune using recordings of the car wash as the music’s backdrop. Turn your car into your personal mini recording studio or karaoke lounge.

Go for the treasure hunt

Clean up your glovebox or dashboards; what if you find some treat that was waiting to be found. Don’t miss out on the other parts of your car’s interior that are reachable.

Tune in to your favorite podcast

Escape for a few minutes by tuning out the world and tuning into something you like, whether it’s to learn something new, laugh, be suspenseful, or simply listen to a very intriguing conversation.

Read a book

That book that you’ve always wanted to read but never had the time is finally in your grasp. If you aren’t a digital book type of person, it is beneficial to bring a physical book so you can read it chapter by chapter. Do not procrastinate!

Contemplate

Contemplate the profound nature of the cosmos and the underlying existential dread that people feel in their everyday lives. Let your imagination and thinking patterns run wild.

Draft your to-do or grocery list

Doing meal planning and/or online grocery shopping in tiny increments during the week is the best way to feel like you’re making the most of your time. That way, by the time the weekend rolls around, it’s already done. Talk about having it together! So, draft it out.

Plan for an outing

Research exciting activities, new restaurants, or upcoming events to get you enthusiastic and motivated about planning a date night or a friend’s hangout with your buddies. Put it in your calendar and make it happen. It takes only a few minutes. As of now, we will keep it for the post-Covid timeline cause, hey, we are all responsible human beings.

Chill out and relax

Put on your favorite playlist and relax. If you prefer being mindful and meditation, that works too. Enjoy those moments and chill.
