
Amid the ongoing slowdown in the auto sector, the industry is only getting a ray of hope from the Sport utility vehicles (SUVs) only. A new set of products has been able to buck the trend, witnessing strong booking and sales numbers.
After receiving an overwhelming response for the Hector, MG Motor India announced that it has taken a decision to halt the bookings temporarily, keeping in mind the company’s commitment to ensure customer satisfaction. The carmaker has already received more than 21,000 bookings for MG Hector, India’s first internet car, since bookings began on June 4. With internet inside, the next-gen i-SMART technology in the Hector promises to deliver safe, connected and fun experiences with the biggest HD touchscreen in its segment at 10.4 inches. The Hector will also be the first car with a sophisticated 48-volt mild-hybrid architecture in its segment. With this, MG Motor becomes the first mainstream carmaker in India to bring 48V technology to the mass market segment.

Kia Motors has already made its strong presence in the Indian market after Seltos received over 6,000 bookings in just one day. As per the sources, the Seltos SUVs first batch has now started reaching dealerships for display. The test drives for the Seltos is expected to begin in the next few days. (M&M), a part of the US $20.7 billion Mahindra Group, launched an innovative new Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) version of its popular compact SUV, the XUV300, making it even easier to own and drive. This AMT with its auto-shift technology will be available on the W8 diesel variant and its optional pack W8(O), at an additional cost of Rs. 55,000 over the manual version.
