Many people could assume that Acc means (adaptive cruise control) but What is Acc in a Car really means different from adaptive cruise control, so let’s get into detail without wasting any more time.
Basically, ACC stands for car Accessories, Most switches will be labeled “Power”, “ACC” or “Accessory”, and “Ground”. The switch opens and closes the connection between “Power” and “ACC”. “Ground” is connected to the vehicle ground and is needed for the light to work.
That may be enough to empty your dead car battery, depending on the circumstances. Only leaving your phone plugged into your car doesn’t mean it will kill your battery.
It saves battery power for when you need to operate vehicle components without the engine being on. The ACC wire offers power/electricity only when you insert the car key into the ignition switch and turn it to the left. The ACC wire needs to be connected to the car ignition. 2. Wire name: 12V battery (+) Color: Yellow.
However, things like interior lighting, door lighting, or even poor fuses, are what can drain a car battery when it’s off.
You can leave on for hours with no impact in accessory mode, not aware of the exact time, but I’ve never had an issue with it being in that mode in 30 years of owning vehicles-just relax and enjoy it, and don’t leave the motor on the total waste of your fuel and not good for the atmosphere. Try to avoid being to leave on ACC mode. You will empty the entire battery immediately in the event of a poor battery.
Accessory mode or On mode: Push ENGINE START / STOP once without pressing the Accessory mode brake pedal. For On mode, press it again. Starting the engine: Push the brake pedal and hold it, then push ENGINE START / STOP. When starting the engine, keep your foot securely on the brake pedal.

Description of ACC wire:
When you insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the left you are turning on the ACC circuit. It will allow you to operate the radio, windows, and other accessories, but it does not turn on the fuel pump and other engine controls. It saves battery power for when you need to operate vehicle components without the engine being on.
The ACC wire offers power/electricity only when you insert the car key into the ignition switch and turn it to the left
The ACC wire needs to be connected to the car ignition
ACC (Accessory) — Allows operation of electrical accessories with the engine off. ON — The engine runs and all electrical accessories can be used. START — Engages the starter. Release the ignition switch when the engine starts. The ignition switch returns automatically to the “ON” position.
ACC (red), supplies +12V power to car audio and other accessories, only when the car’s ignition is switched on. Constant (yellow), also called BAT or Battery, provides permanent +12V power from the battery. This allows the radio to retain settings (for example stored radio stations) when the ignition is switched off.
The ACC wire for the GPS unit is the remote wire just like on a radio. The GPS needs a feed power constant, a constant ground, and a remote wire to turn on the unit. The yellow wire needs to be hooked up to a source of power that is active with the key on only.
