Front Seats:
1. Disconnect the Battery: Before starting any work, disconnect the negative terminal of your car's battery to avoid any electrical accidents.
2. Locate the Seat Bolts: There are four bolts that hold each front seat in place. Two are located at the front of the seat and two are located at the back.
3. Remove the Front Bolts: Use a wrench or socket set to loosen and remove the two bolts at the front of the seat.
4. Remove the Back Bolts: Move to the back of the seat and remove the two bolts that hold the seat to the floor.
5. Lift and Remove the Seat: Once all four bolts are removed, carefully lift the front seat up and remove it from the car.
Rear Seat:
1. Remove the Seat Bottom Cushions: There are two seat bottom cushions in the rear seat. To remove them, simply pull them up and out of the car.
2. Remove the Seat Backs: There are two seat backs in the rear seat. To remove them, locate the two bolts that hold each seat back in place. Use a wrench or socket set to loosen and remove the bolts, then lift the seat backs up and out of the car.
3. Remove the Rear Seat Frame: The rear seat frame is the metal frame that holds the seat cushions and seat backs in place. To remove it, locate the four bolts that hold the frame to the floor. Use a wrench or socket set to loosen and remove the bolts, then lift the frame up and out of the car.
4. Recline the Front Seats: Once the rear seat is removed, recline the front seats all the way back. This will allow you to access the front seat mounting brackets.
5. Remove the Front Seat Brackets: There are four front seat mounting brackets, two on each side of the car. Locate the bolts that hold the brackets to the floor pan and loosen and remove them. Then, remove the brackets from the car.
With all the seats removed, you can now access the interior of your 1967 Volkswagen Fastback for cleaning, repairs, or other modifications. Remember to reconnect the battery before operating the car again.
