To be eligible for a return under the cooling-off period, you must:
- Return the car in the same condition you received it.
- Provide the dealer with the original purchase agreement and any other relevant documents, such as the vehicle title and registration.
- Pay any outstanding fees, such as taxes and registration fees.
The dealer is required to refund your purchase price, less any outstanding fees. They must also cancel any financing or leasing arrangements associated with the vehicle.
If you return a vehicle after the cooling-off period, you may still be able to get a refund, but the dealer is not required to give you one.
In some cases, the dealer may only be willing to give you a store credit or exchange the car for another one.
