1. Locate the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbag indicator light on your dashboard. It is usually located in the center of the dashboard, and it will be illuminated when the airbag is active.
2. Insert your car key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
3. Look for a button or switch labeled "Airbag Off" or "Passenger Airbag Off." It may be located on the dashboard, near the SRS airbag indicator light, or it may be located inside the glove compartment.
4. Press and hold the "Airbag Off" button for a few seconds until the SRS airbag indicator light turns off. This will disable the passenger airbag.
5. To reactivate the passenger airbag, simply start the engine. The SRS airbag indicator light will illuminate again, indicating that the airbag is active.
Note: Disabling the passenger airbag should only be done if it is necessary for the safe transportation of a child in a rear-facing child seat. Always consult your vehicle owner's manual for specific instructions on disabling and reactivating the passenger airbag.
