If you return a car within 30 days of purchase from dealer what can they do in Ohio?

Ohio Lemon Law

If you return a car within 30 days of purchase from a dealer, they may be able to:

- Provide you with a full refund, including any taxes, title, and registration fees.

- Exchange the vehicle for another vehicle of equal or lesser value.

- Repair the vehicle.

In order to qualify for the Ohio Lemon Law, you must meet the following conditions:

- The vehicle must have a substantial defect that affects its safety, value, or use.

- You must have notified the dealer of the defect within the first 30 days of purchase or 1,500 miles, whichever comes first.

- You must have given the dealer a reasonable number of attempts to repair the defect.

If the dealer is unable to repair the defect, they must either replace the vehicle or provide you with a full refund.

Additional Information:

- The Ohio Lemon Law also applies to used cars, but the coverage period is shorter. For used cars, you have 15 days from the date of purchase or 1,000 miles to return the vehicle.

- If you financed the vehicle through the dealership, they must also reimburse you for any finance charges you paid.

- If the dealer refuses to comply with the Ohio Lemon Law, you can file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's Office.
