Maintaining The Interior Of Your Porsche

• Apply Protective Creams
  Porsche provides high quality finishes throughout its interior. To keep the inside of your car reflecting this high quality finish, use a protective leather compatible cream on your covered surfaces. Avoid using this cream on areas like the steering wheel or clutch as it would make these surfaces slippery and difficult to control during driving. • Vacuum Clean Surfaces
  Where carpets or any fabric areas are concerned, using a vacuum is a must. A handheld battery-operated vacuum cleaner can pick up any dust, dirt, and grains of sand in hard to reach places. A plain, slightly damp, cotton cloth can be used after vacuuming to wipe off leather or Alcantara surfaces. Be gentle with the Alcantara fabric by not rubbing it too much as this will fragment the fabric particles. For chrome surfaces, simple water and a cotton cloth will do.
• Remove Stains
  Try to remove stains as soon as possible. Depending on the type of stain and the interior material, there are different ways to remove stains. The most common stains together with the suggested cleaning material are listed below:
  1. Coffee: We all have that moment when our coffee spills, it’s almost inevitable. Use cold water and a paper towel to gently swab the surface until the stain is out.
  2. Grease: Use paint thinner with a damp cloth to remove grease. Ensure the paint thinner is compatible with the fabric before using it to avoid damaging the material.
  3. Gum: A few ice cubes in a plastic sealed bag on top of the gum, will do the trick. Leave the bag on the gum until the gum is hard and simply peal it off.

  The easiest fabric to remove stains from is leather – Alcantara surfaces are extremely sensitive to treat however here are a few tips when dealing with this type of fabric:

  1. Do not pour any cleaning product directly on the stains.
  2. Rubbing the material will penetrate the stain even further into the fabric.
  3. Use a slightly wet cloth or sponge and dap the stain. Remember to rinse the cloth or sponge after every dab and work from outside of the stain to avoid spreading the stain.

Lastly, keep a look out on your headliners and ensure there are no rips in the material. Having a visor also assists avoiding long term damage to the interior and seats of your car caused by the sun.
