Electric motorcycles vary in speed depending on the model and make. Some production models can reach maximum speeds of over 200 mph. Brammo records the current Guinness World Record for speed with its Empulse RR electric racing motorcycle, which managed to hit 201.9 mph (324.9 km/h). Lightning Motorcycle's LS-218 holds the record for the fastest production motorcycle, with a record speed of 217.9 mph (350.7 km/h). While these speeds represent current electric motorcycle capabilities, most production models are designed for city commutes and have speeds closer to 100 mph (160 km/h).
