Traction control off will that make your car slide?

Turning traction control off *increases* the chance your car will slide, especially in slippery conditions (like rain, snow, or ice). Traction control is designed to prevent wheel spin and loss of traction. With it off, the wheels are more likely to lose grip and the car could slide or skid.
