To find the correct fuse:
1. Consult your owner's manual: This is the most reliable source. Look for the section on fuses and diagrams. It will specify the fuse for the windshield washer pump (sometimes it might be listed as "washers").
2. Check the fuse box diagrams: There are usually diagrams inside the fuse box covers themselves. These diagrams show the fuse layout and what each fuse controls. Your Suburban likely has more than one fuse box (one under the hood and possibly one inside the cabin).
3. Use a multimeter: If you can't find the information in your manual or on the diagrams, you can use a multimeter to test the fuses. Start with the fuses that seem likely candidates based on their amperage rating (typically low amperage for a washer pump). Remember to turn the ignition OFF before checking fuses with a multimeter.
Important Note: Before replacing any fuse, make sure the problem isn't something else. A clogged washer fluid line or a faulty pump motor are other possibilities. Replacing the fuse without addressing the underlying problem could result in repeatedly blowing fuses.
