To find it:
1. Consult your owner's manual: This is the best place to start. The manual should have a diagram showing the location of all fuses and relays.
2. Look in the under-dash fuse box: This is usually located under the steering column, often behind a small access panel. The fuse box cover will likely have a diagram showing the location of the fuses and relays. Look for a relay that is labeled "turn signal" or "flasher." It's usually a small square or rectangular component.
3. Check the engine compartment fuse box (if applicable): Some Cavaliers might have additional relays housed in a fuse box under the hood. Again, check the fuse box cover for a diagram.
4. If you can't find it visually, use the process of elimination: If your owner's manual doesn't provide specifics, you may need to carefully remove each relay in the fuse box(es) one by one and visually inspect it for markings while your turn signals are on. When removing them, take note of their positions. Be careful not to touch the relay contacts. A relay that controls the turn signals should be noticeably clicking when the turn signals are activated.
If you're still unable to locate it, a qualified mechanic or auto parts store employee can assist.
