Where is the transmission fluid reservoir on a 1995 Ford Taurus Station Wagon?

The 1995 Ford Taurus station wagon (and most automatics of that era) doesn't have a separate transmission fluid reservoir in the way some vehicles do. The transmission itself acts as the reservoir. Instead of a dipstick and reservoir, you'll find the transmission fluid level checked via a dipstick directly on the transmission itself.

To locate it:

* Look under the hood: You'll need to look at the side of the transmission. It's typically near the rear of the engine, but the exact location will depend on the engine and transmission configuration. The dipstick usually has a bright colored handle (often yellow or red) and will be labeled "ATF" (Automatic Transmission Fluid).

* Refer to your owner's manual: The owner's manual will have a diagram showing the location of the transmission dipstick.

Important Note: Checking the transmission fluid level in a 1995 Taurus (or any car) should be done with the engine running and warmed up to operating temperature, *and* the vehicle should be on a level surface. The procedure should be detailed in your owner's manual. Incorrectly checking the fluid can lead to inaccurate readings.
