Where is the fuel filter on a 98 Chevy suburban 5.7 liter?

On a 1998 Chevy Suburban with a 5.7L engine, the fuel filter is located in the fuel tank. It's not a serviceable, replaceable filter like in many other vehicles. Instead, the entire fuel pump assembly, which contains the filter, needs to be replaced as a unit if it fails.
