If you put a 3 inch body lift in your 97 Chevy silverado do need the steering shaft extension?

A 3-inch body lift on a 1997 Chevy Silverado will likely require a steering shaft extension. While it might *seem* like there's enough slack, the steering shaft's movement is often severely restricted after a 3-inch lift. Forcing it can damage the steering column, u-joints, or even the steering box itself. It's much safer and cheaper to install the correct extension in the first place.
