What the differ between a Chevrolet s10 and s14?

The Chevrolet S10 and S14 are different generations of the same compact pickup truck. The key difference is that they are distinct models produced during separate periods:

* S10: This refers to the first generation (and several subsequent iterations, but generally considered first gen when people simply say "S10") of the Chevrolet compact pickup truck, produced from 1982 to 2004. There were several redesigns within this span, so there were significant changes throughout its production run.

* S14: This is *not* an official Chevrolet designation. There's no Chevrolet truck officially called the S14. The name is sometimes used informally or incorrectly to refer to aspects of the second generation of the S-series trucks (the *S-10 Blazer* is sometimes referred to as an S14, especially in certain parts of the world where the truck is more popular). In reality, GM used internal designations different from the S10, S14 numbering system that are not commonly used by the public.

In short, if someone is talking about an "S14," they're likely referring to something related to the later iterations of the *S10* itself (possibly the second or third generation), or are using a non-official term. There was never a separate Chevrolet truck model officially called the S14.
