Does a 1986 Chevy truck have an engine computer?

Most 1986 Chevy trucks did not have a sophisticated engine computer like those found in later model years. While they might have had some electronic ignition control and perhaps a basic fuel injection system with some rudimentary electronic components, they generally lacked the full-fledged Engine Control Unit (ECU) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) found in later vehicles.
