While you can *remove* the serpentine belt to disable the AC compressor, this is not a bypass. It's a complete shutdown of several critical systems. It's not recommended for anything other than very short-term troubleshooting to determine if the AC compressor is the source of a noise or other problem.
If your AC is malfunctioning, the proper approach is to:
* Diagnose the problem: Is it the compressor, the refrigerant, a leak, or something else? A qualified mechanic can diagnose this accurately.
* Repair the AC system: Replacing a faulty compressor, recharging refrigerant, or fixing a leak are common fixes. Attempting a makeshift bypass could damage other components and be dangerous.
Driving with the serpentine belt removed for any extended period is extremely risky and should be avoided.
