No, the timing chain in a 4.3L Vortec V6 (often called a "small-block" but is *not* the same as a small-block V8) is not the same as a small-block Chevy V8 (e.g., 350, 305, etc.). They are completely different engines with different architectures and thus different timing chain systems.
