How do you remove Brake Drums From a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker?

Tools you will need:

- Jack and jack stands

- Lug wrench

- Hammer

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Replacement brake drums

Instructions

1. Park your Tracker on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheels that you will be removing the brake drums from. Do not remove the lug nuts completely.

3. Jack up your Tracker and support it on jack stands. Make sure that the jack stands are placed under the vehicle's frame, not the axles.

4. Remove the lug nuts and then the wheels.

5. Locate the brake drum. It is the metal cylinder that is attached to the wheel hub.

6. Use a hammer to tap the brake drum around the circumference. This will help to break the seal between the brake drum and the wheel hub.

7. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the brake drum off of the wheel hub. Be careful not to damage the brake drum or the wheel hub.

8. Inspect the brake drum for wear and tear. If the brake drum is worn or damaged, it will need to be replaced.

9. Install the new brake drum. Make sure that the brake drum is properly seated on the wheel hub.

10. Reinstall the wheels and lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts until they are snug.

11. Lower your Tracker from the jack stands.

12. Test the brakes to make sure that they are working properly.
