1. Locate the oil filter housing. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with a black plastic cap on the top. It is located on the front of the engine, just below the exhaust manifold.
2. Remove the oil filter cap by turning it counterclockwise.
3. Remove the old oil filter by hand or with an oil filter wrench.
4. Inspect the old oil filter for any signs of damage or wear.
5. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
6. Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter housing until it is snug.
7. Replace the oil filter cap and turn it clockwise until it is snug.
