1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the thermostat housing.
3. Remove the two bolts that secure the thermostat housing to the water outlet housing.
4. Lift the thermostat housing off the water outlet housing and remove the old thermostat.
5. Install the new thermostat in the reverse order of removal.
6. Refill the cooling system.
2.4L engine (2005-2006):
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
3. Remove the engine cover.
4. Remove the intake manifold.
5. Remove the water outlet housing.
6. Remove the old thermostat from the water outlet housing.
7. Install the new thermostat in the water outlet housing.
8. Install the water outlet housing.
9. Install the intake manifold.
10. Add coolant to the radiator.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
