How do you replace the fuel filter on a 1979 Pontiac Bonneville?

Tools and Materials Needed:

- Replacement Fuel Filter

- Fuel Line Wrench

- Flat-head Screwdriver

- Rags

- Safety Goggles

- Gasoline-resistant Gloves

Instructions:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down completely before proceeding.

2. Locate the fuel filter. On a 1979 Pontiac Bonneville, it is typically mounted near the fuel tank, underneath the vehicle.

3. Place a rag under the fuel filter to catch any spilled gasoline.

4. Use a fuel line wrench to loosen and disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter. Be careful not to spill any gasoline.

5. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry open the fuel filter housing. Be careful not to damage the housing.

6. Remove the old fuel filter from the housing. Inspect the filter for any signs of damage or contamination.

7. Install the new fuel filter into the housing. Make sure that the filter is properly seated in the housing.

8. Reattach the fuel lines to the fuel filter housing. Tighten the fuel line connections with the fuel line wrench.

9. Start the engine and check for any leaks. If you notice any leaks, tighten the fuel line connections until the leaks stop.

10. Test drive the vehicle to make sure the fuel filter is working properly.
