2. Locate the thermostat housing. On most Chevy Silverado models, it's located on the front of the engine, near the top.
3. Feel around the neck of the thermostat housing. On most models, you will feel a bolt towards the top.
4. If you feel a bolt, this is where the thermostat is located. Use the appropriate tool to remove the bolt and then the thermostat will come out with the housing.
5. If there is no bolt but a hose on the top, you will have to remove the housing before you can remove the thermostat.
