What is the point adjustment 1969 ford 200 cid 6?

1969 Ford 200 CID I6 Point Adjustment

- Ensure the engine is cool.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Locate the distributor. It is mounted at the front of the engine, just below the carburetor.

- The points cover is held in place by two screws

- Loosen the hold-down clamp (2) just enough to turn the rotating plate assembly to align the point-opening with a flat portion of the cam, just starting to separate (0.020 inch maximum opening at this setting). Tighten the hold-down clamp.

- Loosen locking screw (1-6 point distributor: loosen both screws) and position stationary contact so opening between contacts is .016-.020 in. when rubbing block on cam is on high point of cam. Holding stationary contact firmly in position, tighten locking screw (both screws on 1-6 point distributor).

This should set the ignition point gap correctly. Be sure to double-check the gap before replacing the distributor cap and connecting the battery cables.
