2. Remove the steering column covers. There are two covers that need to be removed. The first is located around the steering wheel, and the second is located under the steering wheel.
3. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. This is the part that you insert the key into. There is a small hole on the side of the lock cylinder. Insert a paper clip or small screwdriver into the hole and press the release button. The lock cylinder will then come out.
4. Remove the ignition switch. There are two bolts that hold the ignition switch in place. Remove these bolts and the ignition switch will come out.
5. Install the new ignition switch. Insert the new ignition switch into the hole and secure it with the two bolts.
6. Reconnect the battery.
7. Test the ignition switch. Start the engine to make sure that the ignition switch is working properly.
