How do you a Transmission Flush on 2002 Nissan Xterra V6?

Tools and materials needed:

- New transmission fluid (check your owner's manual for the correct type and amount)

- Transmission fluid drain pan

- Funnel

- Wrench

- Rags

- Safety glasses

Instructions:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Locate the transmission fluid drain plug. It is usually located on the bottom of the transmission pan, and is typically a 17mm bolt. Once the drain plug is located, place the drain pan underneath it.

3. Loosen the drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain into the pan. This may take a few minutes.

4. Once the transmission fluid has drained, replace the drain plug. Tighten the drain plug until it is snug.

5. Locate the transmission fluid fill plug. It is usually located on the top of the transmission pan, and is typically a 19mm bolt. Once the fill plug is located, remove it.

6. Insert the funnel into the fill plug hole.

7. Add new transmission fluid to the transmission. Add fluid until the level reaches the "full" mark on the dipstick.

8. Replace the transmission fluid fill plug.

9. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new transmission fluid throughout the transmission.

10. Check the transmission fluid level again. If necessary, add more fluid.
