2. Remove the distributor cap. The distributor cap is located at the front of the engine, on the side opposite the fuel injector. It is held in place by four screws.
3. Locate the terminals on the distributor cap. The distributor cap has eight terminals, one for each spark plug wire. The terminals are numbered from 1 to 8, counterclockwise from the front of the cap.
4. Identify the spark plugs. The spark plugs are located on the top of the engine, near the front. They are numbered from 1 to 8, front to back.
5. Connect the spark plug wires to the distributor cap. Match the number on the spark plug wire with the number on the distributor cap terminal. Push the spark plug wire onto the terminal until it clicks into place.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the remaining spark plug wires.
7. Replace the distributor cap. Replace the four screws that hold the distributor cap in place.
8. Start the engine. The engine should start and run smoothly.
