The 12-volt system in your RV is responsible for providing power to the following:
- Lights
- Water pump
- Furnace
- Refrigerator (on propane)
- Television
- Radio
- Other 12-volt devices
The 12-volt system is powered by the RV's battery. When you are plugged into shore power, the battery will be charged by the converter. When you are not plugged into shore power, the battery will provide power to the 12-volt system.
120-Volt System
The 120-volt system in your RV is responsible for providing power to the following:
- Air conditioner
- Microwave
- Coffee maker
- Toaster
- Other 120-volt devices
The 120-volt system is powered by the RV's generator or by shore power. When you are plugged into shore power, the 120-volt system will be powered directly from the shore power connection. When you are not plugged into shore power, the 120-volt system will be powered by the generator.
Converter
The converter is a device that converts 120-volt AC power from shore power or the generator to 12-volt DC power. This power is then used to charge the battery and power the 12-volt system.
Generator
The generator is a device that produces 120-volt AC power. This power can be used to power the 120-volt system or to charge the battery.
Shore Power Connection
The shore power connection is a plug that connects the RV to an external power source, such as a household outlet. When the RV is plugged into shore power, the 120-volt system will be powered directly from the shore power connection.
