1. Locate the battery compartment. It is usually found on the passenger side of the truck, behind the front wheel.
2. Open the battery compartment door. There may be a latch or a release button that you need to press to open the door.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This is the black cable that connects the battery to the truck's frame. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place, and then pull the cable off of the battery terminal.
4. Disconnect the positive battery cable. This is the red cable that connects the battery to the starter. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place, and then pull the cable off of the battery terminal.
5. Remove the battery hold-down clamp. This is the metal bracket that holds the battery in place. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the clamp in place, and then remove the clamp.
6. Lift the battery out of the compartment. Be careful not to drop the battery, as it is heavy.
7. To replace the battery, follow these steps in reverse order.

* Always wear gloves and eye protection when working with batteries.
* Never smoke or create sparks near batteries.
* Do not drop batteries.
* If you spill battery acid on your skin, rinse it off immediately with water.
* If you get battery acid in your eyes, flush them with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.
