New ŠKODA CITIGOe iV has its price announced

Now that the new longer range Volkswagen e-up had its price announced, it’s time for ŠKODA to reveal the price of the CITIGOe iV.

This electric car with a WLTP range of 260 km (162 miles) has a starting price in Germany of 20.950 euros. After deducting the ŠKODA environmental bonus and minus the state subsidy the price is reduced to 16.570 euros. It’s 1.025 euros cheaper than its sibling Volkswagen e-up, but standard equipment should be different.

ŠKODA CITIGOe iV technical overview

This electric car belongs to the popular A-segment in Europe and is perfect for the city environment. The rear just like its sibling from SEAT has less glass and more metal than the Volkswagen e-up, this makes it less fragile and more visible from behind (if the car is white).

ŠKODA CITIGOe iV highlights

From the 20th of September the electric ŠKODA microcar can be ordered, however you shouldn’t expect a delivery before 2020. I’ll explain why in more detail in an article about EU emission regulations that I’m just finishing.

Anyway, now the only VW electric triplet left without an official price is the SEAT Mii Electric. We should know more about SEAT’s first electric car in the following days.

While you can still order the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) version of the Volkswagen up, you can no longer do the same for the ŠKODA and SEAT siblings. ŠKODA and SEAT are now electric only in the A-segment, which is great.
