Why do hybrid car call as when it still uses gas?

Hybrid cars are called hybrids because they use two or more distinct power sources to move the vehicle. In the case of most hybrid cars, this means an internal combustion engine (ICE) and an electric motor. The ICE is typically used to power the car at higher speeds, while the electric motor is used to power the car at lower speeds and provide additional power when needed.

However, hybrid cars still use gas because the ICE is still the primary source of power. The electric motor is only used to supplement the ICE, and it cannot power the car on its own. This means that hybrid cars still emit greenhouse gases and other pollutants, although they do so at a lower rate than conventional gasoline-powered cars.

As technology continues to improve, hybrid cars may eventually be able to operate without gas altogether. However, this is still a long way off, and for now, hybrid cars are still classified as vehicles that use both gas and electricity.
