What powers your AC in car?

The air conditioning system in a car is powered by the engine. The engine drives a compressor, which compresses the refrigerant gas. The compressed gas is then passed through a condenser, which cools it down and turns it into a liquid. The liquid refrigerant is then passed through an expansion valve, which allows it to expand and turn into a gas again. The expanding gas is then passed through an evaporator, which cools the air in the car. The cooled air is then blown into the passenger compartment by a fan.

The air conditioning system also uses a heater core to warm the air in the car when it is cold outside. The heater core is a small radiator that is heated by the engine coolant. The warm coolant flows through the heater core and heats the air that is blown into the passenger compartment.
