Why does your car only blow heat when moving?

Cars do not only produce heat when moving. Most vehicles have heaters that can generate warm air regardless of whether the vehicle is moving. When the heater is turned on, the vehicle's engine coolant is circulated through the heater core. A fan then blows air over the heater core, which warms the air and distributes it throughout the vehicle's cabin.
