1. Locate the reset button:
- Identify the brand and model of your KVA electric meter. Different brands and models may have different reset button locations.
- Look for a small button or hole, usually marked "reset" or with a symbol, near the display screen or on the front of the meter.
- Sometimes the reset button may be hidden behind a protective cover. Refer to the user manual or the manufacturer's website for the exact location of the reset button.
2. Press and hold the reset button:
- Make sure the meter is powered on.
- Using a thin object like a paperclip or a small screwdriver, press and hold the reset button for a few seconds, usually around 5 to 10 seconds.
- While holding the reset button, the display might start blinking, indicating that the reset is in progress.
- Continue holding the button until the display resets or shows all zeroes.
Note:
- If the reset button is not easily accessible or if the meter does not respond to the reset, it's best to consult the manufacturer's manual or seek help from a qualified electrician to ensure proper and safe handling of the meter.
- Resetting the electric meter may erase any stored readings, billing data, or cumulative usage, so it's recommended to note down any important information before performing the reset.
