* A/C recharge kit with R-134a refrigerant
* A/C manifold gauge set
* Safety goggles
* Gloves
* A wrench
* A screwdriver
1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. The A/C system should be charged with the engine off.
2. Locate the A/C recharge port. On the 2001 Mercedes C320, the A/C recharge port is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the firewall. It is a small, metal port with a Schrader valve.
3. Connect the A/C manifold gauge set to the A/C recharge port. The manifold gauge set has three hoses: a low-pressure hose, a high-pressure hose, and a charging hose. Connect the low-pressure hose to the low-pressure port on the manifold gauge set, and the high-pressure hose to the high-pressure port on the manifold gauge set. The charging hose should be left disconnected for now.
4. Open the refrigerant tank. The refrigerant tank is located in the A/C recharge kit. Open the tank carefully to avoid spilling any refrigerant.
5. Connect the charging hose to the refrigerant tank. Attach the charging hose to the port on the refrigerant tank.
6. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the refrigerant throughout the A/C system.
7. Check the A/C manifold gauge set. The low-pressure gauge should read between 25 psi and 45 psi, and the high-pressure gauge should read between 150 psi and 250 psi.
8. If the pressures are within the desired range, close the refrigerant tank and disconnect the charging hose.
9. Turn off the engine and remove the A/C manifold gauge set. Your A/C system should now be charged and ready to use.
