The engine management system, the heating system, the air-conditioning system, the air distribution system and the associated sensors constitute the engine and body electronics system. The engine management system uses signals from its sensors to operate the injectors and the various actuators (EGR, turbo).
The heating system generates warm air using the heat from the engine coolant circuit ; this is done by sending the coolant to a heat exchanger which warms the air which passes over it ; this air is then sent to the passenger compartment by a fan.
The air-conditioning system is used to cool the air inside the passenger compartment by a refrigerant compression and decompression cycle. The system consists of a compressor driven by a belt from the engine ; the compressor sucks the gas in the form of a vapour, increases its pressure and injects it in the condenser.
The air distribution system allows the air sent by the heating or air-conditioning system to be directed towards different vents to ensure distribution of the air to the passenger compartment and screen misting.
