All BYD electric vehicles will soon come equipped with ultra-safe Blade Batteries

All BYD electric vehicles will soon get cobalt-free Blade batteries that are extremely safe, simple and cheap.

This not only applies to passenger electric cars, but to the whole range of electric vehicles.

On April 7, 2021, BYD, a leading global EV maker, officially announced that all of its pure electric vehicles will now come with the brand’s ultra-safe Blade Batteries, with nail penetration testing fully adopted as a brand standard. At the same time, the Blade Battery completed an extreme strength test that saw it being rolled over by a 46-ton heavy truck, once again resetting the bar for power battery safety.

In addition, four new pure electric models were also launched on the Chinese market at the same time, namely the 2021 Tang EV, Qin PLUS EV, Song PLUS EV, and 2021 e2, all equipped with Blade Batteries.

Apart from the cobalt-free and CTP (cell-to-pack) battery technologies, what I like the most about BYD, is that it has electric vehicles for almost every need – as you can see from the image above. BYD calls it: Full Market EV Strategy.

The BYD 7+4 Full Market EV Strategy encompasses most forms of ground transportation as well as every aspect of daily transportation needs. It comprises 7 conventional types of transportation (passenger vehicles, taxis, buses, coaches, urban logistics vehicles, urban construction vehicles and urban sanitation vehicles) and 4 specialized types of transportation (vehicles for mining, ports, airports and warehousing).

This is extremely good news. I’m looking forward to see eBuses with BYD Blade battery packs, the simplicity of CTP technology should drive costs down.

BYD should get a lot more praise from the EV media and community.
