1. Park the motorcycle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the battery. It is located under the seat.
3. Remove the seat by lifting it up and off the motorcycle.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This is the black cable. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place.
5. Disconnect the positive battery cable. This is the red cable. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place.
6. Remove the battery. Lift it straight up and out of the motorcycle.
7. Replace the battery if necessary.
8. Connect the positive battery cable.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Replace the seat.
