1. Prepare the motorcycle:
- Place the motorcycle on a level surface.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Disengage the transmission and set the parking brake.
2. Locate the battery:
- The battery is located under the seat of the motorcycle.
3. Remove the seat:
- To remove the seat, lift the rear edge and pull it backward until it disengages from the catches.
4. Disconnect the battery terminals:
- Start by disconnecting the negative (black) terminal. Use a wrench to loosen the nut securing the cable to the terminal, and then remove the cable.
- Repeat the process for the positive (red) terminal.
5. Remove the battery:
- Once the terminals are disconnected, you can remove the battery by lifting it straight up and out of the battery compartment.
6. Reinstall the battery:
- To reinstall the battery, reverse the steps you took to remove it. Ensure the terminals are connected properly, with the positive terminal connected first.
7. Test the battery:
- Before starting the motorcycle, check the battery voltage using a voltmeter. The battery should show a voltage of around 12.6 volts when fully charged.
8. Close the seat:
- Once you have tested the battery, close the seat by aligning the catches and pressing down until it locks into place.
