Locate the battery. On the Superglide, the battery is located under the seat.
Disconnect the battery cables. The negative terminal is marked with a minus (-) symbol, and the positive terminal is marked with a plus (+) symbol. Disconnect the negative cable first, using a 5/16-inch wrench. Then disconnect the positive cable.
Remove the battery hold-down bolts. There are two bolts that hold the battery in place. Remove these bolts using a 10 mm wrench.
Lift the battery out of the bike. Be careful not to drop the battery, as it is heavy and can cause injury.
Place the new battery in the bike. Make sure that the positive and negative terminals are aligned with the corresponding terminals on the bike.
Secure the battery with the hold-down bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.
Reconnect the battery cables. Connect the positive cable first, and then connect the negative cable.
Test the battery by starting the bike.
