2. Open the hood of your Passat.
3. Locate the parking light assembly. It is located on the front of the car, just below the headlight.
4. Unplug the electrical connector
5. There will be two 8mm bolts holding the tail light assembly in place. Use a wrench to loosen and remove these bolts.
6. Once the bolts are removed, you can gently pry the parking light assembly out of its housing. Be careful not to damage the paint on your Passat.
7. Remove the old parking light bulb from the assembly. To do this, simply twist the bulb counterclockwise until it comes loose.
8. Install the new parking light bulb into the assembly. Be sure to twist the bulb clockwise until it is snug.
9. Reinstall the parking light assembly into its housing. Be sure to align the mounting holes with the bolts.
10. Replace the two 8mm bolts and tighten them snugly.
11. Reconnected the electrical connector.
12. Close the hood of your Passat.
That's it! You have successfully replaced the front driver's side parking light assembly on your 99 Passat.
