1. Make sure the ignition is off.
2. Locate the airbag module under the passenger seat, remove floor mat and storage container. You can also access it by removing the trim panel next to the passenger footwell.
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Wait 10 minutes for the airbag module to discharge.
5. Disconnect the airbag module connector.
6. Short circuit the airbag module terminals for 10 seconds. Some sources say to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds, and some say to short the metal clips. Try the reset button first.
7. Reconnect the airbag module connector.
8. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
9. Turn on the ignition and start the engine. The airbag light should now be off.
If shorting the reset button doesn't work, you can try shorting the metal clips. If that doesn't work either, you may need to replace the airbag module.
