The battery in a 2004 Mercedes E500 is located in the trunk of the car, on the right side.
Step 2: Remove the battery cover
The battery cover is held in place by two plastic clips. To remove the cover, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the clips open.
Step 3: Disconnect the negative battery cable
The negative battery cable is the black cable that connects the battery to the car's chassis. To disconnect the negative battery cable, use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place.
Step 4: Disconnect the positive battery cable
The positive battery cable is the red cable that connects the battery to the starter motor. To disconnect the positive battery cable, use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable in place.
Step 5: Remove the battery
Once the battery cables are disconnected, you can remove the battery from the car. To do this, simply lift the battery out of the battery tray.
Step 6: Replace the battery
If you are replacing the battery, simply place the new battery in the battery tray and reconnect the battery cables. Make sure to reconnect the positive battery cable first, and then the negative battery cable.
Step 7: Replace the battery cover
Once the battery cables are reconnected, you can replace the battery cover. To do this, simply snap the cover back into place.
