Note: Before you begin, make sure that the vehicle is parked in a safe location and that the engine is off.
1. Open the hood of your vehicle.
2. Locate the heater blower motor. It is usually located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the firewall.
3. Follow the electrical wires from the blower motor to the resistor. The resistor is usually located nearby.
4. The resistor is a small, cylindrical-shaped component with two or more electrical connectors.
Here are some additional tips that may be helpful:
- If you are unable to locate the resistor, you can consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a repair manual for more information.
- If you are replacing the resistor, make sure that you purchase the correct part for your vehicle. The resistor must have the same electrical resistance as the original resistor.
- When replacing the resistor, be careful not to touch any of the electrical wires or connectors. This could damage the electrical system of your vehicle.
